Is it ever “just entertainment” ?
That’s it. That’s the question.
I often see the phrase “just entertainment” used to justify problematic media. But does the content of what we read, watch and listen to still matter, if we judge media solely on entertainment value?
I don’t have an answer for this yet, only an intuition that there’s something odd about this line of argument.
